Swarovski News: Crystal Brand offers SCS Loyalty Gift in 2013

Since the launch of the Lovebirds in 1987, the Swarovski annual editions were created as trilogies:

  • Magic of Dance (Isadora, Antonio, Anna)

In 2007, the final year of the Wonders of the Sea trilogy (Harmony, Eternity, and Community), Swarovski offered a loyalty gift to an SCS member who purchased all three crystal figurines in the series.  The loyalty gift for Wonders of the Sea was the Blue Tang Fish.  If the member purchased all three Wonders of the Sea clear figurines, the Blue Tang Fish was clear.  If the member purchased all three Wonders of the Sea colored figurines, the Blue Tang Fish was colored.  The loyalty gift for this series was never available for purchase;  it had to be earned.

The trilogy offered 2008 through 2010 was Endangered Species.  Swarovski SCS members who purchased all three in the series, Pandas, Gorillas, and Tiger, received a Standing Tiger Cub for their loyalty gift.  An identical Standing Tiger Cub was also available for purchase by SCS members for $180, but under a different part number / system number

I found out, albeit the hard way, that my local retailer would sometimes use my SCS number, and other times my husband’s SCS number.  I did not know this until I called Swarovski asking where my loyalty gift was.  I was told that neither number was used for all three years, so I was not eligible to receive the loyalty gift.  I wasn’t sure how that was my fault, nonetheless, no free gift.

These Swarovski loyalty gifts, the two Blue Tang Fish and Standing Tiger Cub, typically sell $125 – $175 on the secondary market or in the online auctions

On the company’s web site, in an exclusive area containing Swarovski news, it is mentioned that there will be a loyalty gift in 2013 for SCS members who purchase annual editions in 2011, 2012, and 2013.  It appears to be a secret at this time..no clue if it will be complimentary to the annual editions for the three years, or a completely different figurine.  So, knowing that Swarovski is continuing the tradition they began in 2007, make sure that you confirm your SCS number is being used when you make your Swarovski crystal Annual Edition purchase.

Swarovski News: A Swarovski Limited Online Edition 2011 Christmas Set

Swarovski has announced to its SCS members that beginning August 29, residents of 23 select countries will have the opportunity to purchase Swarovski Christmas Set, an online limited edition.

So you are wondering what is in the Swarovski Christmas Set?  It consists of the

  • Swarovski Christmas Ornament Home Display, Retail cost $28
  • Swarovski 2011 Annual Edition Ornament, Retail cost $75
  • Swarovski Little Star Ornament, Retail cost $40

What is not mentioned in the announcement is the price for the Online Limited Edition, only that there is a considerable savings.

By now, Swarovski crystal fanatics may have already purchased the 2011 Christmas Ornament, so they might not be interested in a complete set.

It is also worth mentioning that for several weeks now, the 2011 Christmas Ornament has NOT been available for purchase at the Swarovski web site (at least for USA residents).  The Swarovski Christmas Set is also NOT available for purchase at the Swarovski web site.  Speculation is that they are SOLD OUT from the manufacturer.   So if this is the case, you may find this to be great news that you have opportunity to still get the ornament if you are willing to purchase the set, which also includes the little star and stand accessories.

Also, the Swarovski 2011 Ornament is available at the Crystal Exchange America web site: www.CrystalExchange.com .  Simply look in the Christmas and Ornaments category to find the 2011 Swarovski Ornament as well as Swarovski ornaments from prior years!

Swarovski Optik Television Series

Being Swarovski crystal collectors, we are on top of new figurine introductions and figurine retirements.  This past spring, we’ve learned more about the Swarovski Aura Perfume venture making them more visible in the health and beauty industry.  Then early in the summer, the news was revealed about the relationship with Sanrio that the crystal giant would be launching a Swarovski Hello Kitty product line in their corporate stores.  So there have been lots of new bonds formed to expand their global presence in other areas.

Swarovski Optik has been around for years as an industry leader in high quality precision long range optics / scopes / binoculars.  Optik has now announced a partnership with Orion Multimedia, a world leader in outdoor adventure programming to produce a new television series “SWAROVSKI OPTIK QUESTS – With the Eyes of a Hawk”.  The series will travel around the globe focusing on those trophy animals in every hunter’s dream.

 

 

 

 

“SWAROVSKI OPTIK QUESTS – With the Eyes of a Hawk” will appear on the Versus network in the fall of 2011, then the episodes will re-air in the spring, 2012 on the Sportsman Channel.

Swarovski Skull – Soulmate Crystal Figurine coming soon!

Well, we always hear of new things, sometimes strange things, being embellished with Swarovski crystal stones.

Never did I think that the crystal giant themselves would produce a Swarovski Skull figurine.  To my surprise, they have!  From information obtained from an authorized retailer, this Soulmate Skull is supposed to launch in August or September, 2011.

The Swarovski Soulmate Skull is jet hermatite (black) crystal with silver colored accents and will be available in two different sizes.  The larger of the two (Swarovski system # 1124219) is just over 4″ tall and will be in the price range of $850 – $900.  The smaller of the two (Swarovski system # 1124215) is about 2″ tall and will be in the price range of $350 – $400.

I was able to find Swarovski ‘N the Skull’ men’s jewelry and an ‘N the Skull’ keyring on the official Swarovski web site, so I believe this is a family of products.  The Swarovski N the Skull keyring (system #1111589) retails for $140.  The Swarovski N the Skull Pendant retails for $200 (system # 1111588) and Swarovski N the Skull Necklace retails for $450 (system # 1111587).

I’m not so sure that I’ll be adding this “N the Skull” figurine to my collection, but it is certainly bound to spark some conversation within the Swarovski crystal collecting community.

Swarovski Limited Editions in 2011

Customers have asked us about the availability of some Swarovski Limited Editions available this year, 2011.  Some Swarovski crystal fanatics tell us of rumors about the Swarovski NLE Bald Eagle being sold out.  Others have asked us about the Swarovski NLE Hello Kitty production.

I took a moment to check the crystal brand web site.  What I was able to see was that both items are still appearing on the online shoppe, so I do not believe that either is sold out.

The Swarovski Bald Eagle indeed displays the ‘Add to Shopping Bag’ button.  Retail price of the Bald Eagle, Swarovski Numbered Limited Edition 2011, is $3800.  A maximum of 10,000 Swarovski Bald Eagles are to be produced.  As of July 4, 2011 Swarovski SCS membership is no longer required to purchase.

The Swarovski Hello Kitty, Limited Edition 2011 also displays the ‘Add to Shopping Bag’ button.  Retail price of the Hello Kitty, Numbered Limited Edition, is $8000.  A maximum of 88 Swarovski Hello Kitty, Limited Edition 2011 are to be produced, so this is a true exclusive.

Swarovski SCS Ornament for 2011 Crystal Announcement

Swarovski has made the official announcement to its SCS members that the SCS Christmas Ornament, Annual Edition 2011 will be available in September, 2011.

The Swarovski Crystal SCS Ornament, which is limited to one per member, uses the same design as the 2011 Annual Edition Ornament.  The difference between the two is that the Swarovski 2011 Annual Edition Ornament utilizes clear crystal and hangs from a white satin ribbon.  The SCS 2011 Ornament utilizes the golden shadow crystal and hangs from a bronze colored ribbon.  The Swarovski SCS 2011 Ornaments are approximately 2.5 inches wide and 3.25 inches in height.

Swarovski began producing the SCS Ornaments in golden shine crystal in 2009.  The Swarovski 2009 Ornament designer was Elke Kumar.  Both the Swarovski crystal clear and golden shine ornaments retailed for $75.

Eva Marie Ried designed the Swarovski 2010 Ornament.  Both the Swarovski crystal clear and golden shine ornaments retailed for $75.

Based on the pictures I have seen of the 2011, I think the Swarovski SCS 2011 Ornament (gold one) is going to be my favorite of all the SCS Ornaments produced so far.  I’m looking forward  to securing mine ASAP.

The Swarovski Hello Kitty crystal figurines are about 2 x 2.5 inches in size.  The price tag of $205 seems a bit high considering the physical size of the figurines.

I also noticed that the only earrings I found were CLIP earrings, not pierced earrings.

 

 

The Swarovski Hello Kitty Limited Edition 2011 (Swarovski system # 1097008) does not show an ‘Add to Shopping Bag’ button.  I’m not sure if it has already sold out, or if it simply is just not yet available on the web site at this time.

Swarovski Santa Mo begins Christmas Crystal Journey Around the World

Swarovski Santa Mo has officially launched in the Swarovski online store.  As the orders begin coming in, Santa Mo will begin its journey to spend Christmas 2011 in thousand of the new homes.

This sweet Swarovski Lovlots limited edition cow (Swarovski system number 1096024) is dressed in a classic Santa suit, complete with Santa hat.  This Swarovski figurine will be available only in 2011.

Knowing that this is a Swarovski Limited Edition, many crystal fanatics may purchase extra Christmas Santa Mo figurines speculating on how popular this collectible may be beginning on 2012.  As a result, Santa Mo may appear soon in online auctions or the secondary market.   Once Crystal Exchange America has any listings for the figurine, the Swarovski Santa Mo will be found in the  ‘Limited Edition Swarovski’ category of the store.

Swarovski Paradise Blue Roller Bird on Sale!

Yesterday, I got an email from the Swarovski about a current sale, for 30% – 50% off select items.  Among the crystal figurines on sale was an expensive item in the Paradise line…the Swarovski Blue Turquoise Roller Bird.

The Swarovski Blue Roller is a large crystal bird figurine, about 10″ wide.  The Swarovski Roller (9600 000 125 / 957 568) was designed by Anton Hirzinger.  The bird is blue turquoise and black diamond in color.  The bird is attached to a metal stand.  The Swarovski Roller is in the Silver Lake collection of the Paradise line.  Originally introduced in 2011, it had a retail price of $950.  The sale price now is $570!

The Swarovski Blue Roller is similar (in my opinion) to seven other large bird figurines in the Swarovski Paradise line.  All these Swarovski birds are nearly 8″ tall and are very colorful:

Swarovski Orange Panther – Crystal Online Limited Edition Available in August

The famous crystal brand has announced that they are releasing another wild cat the Swarovski Soulmate Orange Shine Panther Limited Online Edition.  The Orange Shine Panther is the 4th variation of the panther to be produced Swarovski crystal fanatics to add to their collection:

  1. Swarovski Soulmate Panther (clear) – 9600 000 074 / 874 337.  Introduced in 2007and retires in 2011.
  2. Swarovski Soulmate Limited Edition Panther (black) – 9600 000 151 / 1060325. Introduced and sold out in 2010.
  3. Swarovski Soulmate Panther (moroda) – 1096051.  New release for 2011.
  4. Swarovski Soulmate Limited Edition Panther (orange shine) – 1096051.  New release for 2011.

The designer for the Swarovski Soulmate Panther figurines is Heinz Tabertshofer .  All the panther crystal figurines are fully faceted animals attached to black spot granite bases.  The limited editions are individually numbered and engraved in the granite base.

So what are the differences between the Swarovski Online Limited Edition Panthers? As much as I know at this time, the colors are different and the production quantity is different.  Swarovski Black Panther – Limited to 500 units.  Swarovski Orange Shine Panther – Limited to 888 units.  I have not heard any news about the price.  The retail price on all the colors released to date has been just under $1000 each.

The Limited Edition Black Panther is performing well on the secondary market, with trading prices in the $3000 to $3500 range.  If this is any indication of success for the Limited Edition Orange Shine Panther, you’ll want to save the date of August 29, 2011 to try and purchase this newest one, so that you won’t have to pay secondary market prices to add it to your Swarovski crystal collection.
