The Swarovski Golden Shadow Lion was released to Swarovski retailers near October 20, 2010. I was excited when mine arrived about a week later. I wanted to share some photos of this newest Swarovski Soulmate release with my collecting friends.
The Swarovski system # is 1092104. The suggested retail price is $960. This magnificent Golden Shadow Lion came with a special black card, cleaning cloth, gloves, and generic blue certificate (like other Swarovski generic certificates). The designer is Mario Dilitz. The Swarovski swan logo is on the back right foot. The stunning Swarovski figurine has dimensions of 6 15/16 x 3 7/8 x 6 7/16 inches and stands on a base of mahogany granite.
Other Swarovski Crystal sculptures in the Soulmates Collection include: Swarovski Maxi Swan, Swarovski Eagle, Swarovski Panther, Swarovski Black Panther, Swarovski Walrus, Swarovski Dolphins, Swarovski Lion, Swarovski Bull, and Swarovski Bear.
It appears that Swarovski has another Hare / Rabbit / Bunny soon to be released. This Swarovski Hare is made of Crystal Golden Shadow with jet crystal eyes. I believe it is the same design as the upcoming Swarovski Limited Edition Hare, but in a different color.
The Swarovski Hare (golden shadow) is about 1.5″ in length and will retail for $60 US. I found stores accepting pre-orders for this item, and it seems that they should be available near the end of March, which is just before the Swarovski Limited Edition Hare is to launch.
Swarovski Hare in Crystal Golden Shadow
There are a number of retired Swarovski hare / bunny / rabbit designs if you collect the Swarovski crystal bunny figurines:
Many of these retired Swarovski rabbit / hare / bunny designs can be found at the Crystal Exchange America web site http://www.crystalexchange.com/ . At the site, use the search feature, keyword “rabbit”.
Several weeks ago, our family went to see the action movie Tower Heist. The movie stars Benn Stiller, Eddie Murphy, and Casey Affleck. It is an action comedy about some hard-working guys who lose their retirement funds to a billionaire swindler and how the men plot to reclaim what is rightfully theirs.
Early in the movie, when the plans are being set, the men are challenged to steal some merchandise from mall stores. One of the men enters a Swarovski boutique for the challenge.
Below are some pictures from the filming of the movie Tower Heist from this exact scene. Here, Casey Afflec is checking out the Swarovski crystal Bella Earrings.
The Swarovski boutique is located in the Queens Center Mall in New York.
I thought Tower Heist worth seeing. In our area, the movie is still showing in our theatres, so this movie may be a nice holiday treat following Christmas!
Swarovski has introduced another Limited Edition Swarovski figurine. The crystal figurine is the Swarovski Limited Edition Golden Rabbit. The Swarovski system number for the item is 1046377. This Swarovski figurine was produced for the collecting community in China only.
According to the ebay ads I read, the figurine has the inscription “Limited Edition 2011”.
So, if you are not in China, you may want to check out some of the ebay ads below to purchase:
Swarovski Limited Edition Golden Rabbit
Swarovski Limited Edition Chinese Golden Rabbit
(These ebay sellers are not endorsed by me. I have not purchased anything from either one of them.)
Good luck bidding if you looking to acquire this Limited Edition Swarovski figurine!
A month or so back, I came across an article discussing how many large companies and consumers are being victimized by fraudulent websites. One company specifically mentioned was Swarovski. And the number of fake websites modeling theirs is growing. Sadly enough, consumers and Swarovski crystal fanatics looking for a great deal on their favorite figurines and jewelry are likely to only end up with headaches and frustrated for weeks or months until the matter is closed.
The scenario is this… a fraudster group of individuals picks a brand to target, in this case Swarovski. They purchase a domain name (less than $50 for one year) that any normal internet user might believe is the official Swarovski brand. Then the scammers get to work building the website (or pay to have it done). Oftentimes, this heartless group will steal images, artwork, logos, and other material directly from the luxury brand’s own web site! On the fake Swarovski websites, the prices will be so slashed, that it might be hard to resist. The web site looks real. The images are indeed Swarovski products. The prices look great. Why not! Well, the ‘Why Not?’ should be easy…if it looks too good to be true, then it probably is too good to be true.
Here are some of the non-official websites I located doing research for this article. I intentionally did not link to them, so you will have to re-type them into another browser window to navigate to the site. For legal reasons, I must say that I’m NOT implying that these sites sell fakes; I am indicating that they are NOT the official brand that we think they are when looking at the products advertised on their sites. Just like any other websites, consider the potential for malware (though I don’t believe there were any issues when I visited them):
Non-Official Site #1: www.swarovskisale.co
Non-Official Site #2: www.swarovski-store.net
Non-Official Site #3: www.cheap-swarovski.net
Non-Official Site #4: www.swarovski-shop.me
Non-Official Site #5: www.swarovski-onlineshop.com
Non-Official Site #6: www.swarovski-outletuk.co.uk
Just for kicks, I picked a non-official website, and began the process to place an order. When I picked to pay by credit card, I was transferred to a 3rd party payment domain owned by an individual or company in China. I switched my method of payment to Western Union, and saw that the recipient address displayed was again in China. So, lastly I selected Bank Transfer, and again, the recipient information shows a destination in China. Might this be an indicator of a Swarovski scam? Certainly so! After all, the official Swarovski brand is NOT in China!
Is this the luxury brand’s official web site……?
Or Is this the luxury brand’s official web site……?
Or is this the luxury brand’s official web site……?
Naturally, Swarovski’s legal team goes after cyber-squatters whose sole purpose is to defraud consumers. Here is one such domain name that Swarovski has claimed: www.swarovski-sale.com . From various sites where consumers report scams, this domain name appeared numerous times, so it was very wise for the crystal giant to display a blank page instead of the official Swarovski website.
Despite Swarovski getting control of the swarovski-sale.com domain name, I would be certain that the process is expensive and takes a good bit of time wading through all the proper channels of command, so there is plenty of opportunity time-wise for consumers to be victimized by the scammers. In most complaints and cases I read posted by the victims themselves, they report:
Receiving cheap plastic substitutions
Having emails that don’t use the domain name itself, i.e. Swarovski-deal @ xyz-mail.com . In some cases, there is no email at all. They use a ‘contact us’ form that essentially does nothing.
If there is email correspondence, it contains very poor and broken English and grammar
Social Networking text and graphics on the website pages are not actual links (‘Share Your Story’, ‘Like Us on Facebook’, ‘Follow Us on Twitter’, ‘Share This’, etc)
Swarovski crystal collectors and those who enjoy Swarovski jewelry should stick with reliable sources. Don’t become a victim of Swarovski fraud. Send emails to the website company for more information about their guarantees and return policies to ensure you are dealing with a legitimate company. Follow your instinct; if it seems fishy, it probably is fishy.
Crystal collectors can count on the Swarovski Experts at Crystal Exchange America to ensure the figurines purchased from them are indeed genuine Swarovski. Check out the Crystal Exchange America website at www.CrystalExchange.com for retired and hard to find Swarovski figurines.
This sounds like fun… a Swarovski Treasure Hunt! I was uncertain was the article was going to lead into when I read that SCVNGR and the famous crystal brand were co-sponsoring a city-wide treasure hunt in the London, UK. I had to read on.
Summarizing, on September 24, 2011, there is a BIG treasure hunt going on in London. Up to 1300 couples can pre-register and share in this grand 3-hour event. Participants must download an iPhone or Android app to participate in this usual diversion.
So what is motivating these teams to become involved in the treasure hunt filled with hidden prizes? Swarovski presents, Swarovski perfume, and Swarovski jewelry, valuing at nearly $1000 per person if all the tasks are accomplished. That would certainly motivate me!
And the prizes get bigger! Three teams will be awarded grand prize trips to Kristallwelten, Austria and a five-night stay in a fashion capital such as Paris, Florence, Barcelona or Istanbul How great is that!
I hope that SCVNGR and Swarovski will consider a venue a bit closer to Ohio (USA), I’d seriously have to consider upgrading to an iPhone to be a part of such an exciting and challenging affair!
Swarovski recently released the list of crystal figurines that will retire in the first half of 2012. Over 40 Swarovski figurines are slated to be officially discontinued beginning January through June of this year. With this Swarovski news, the popular website, RetiredSwarovski.com has now posted the complete list in the Swarovski Retiring Soon section of the web site. This page of the web site includes links to the crystal figurines in the Swarovski shoppe to make shopping easy for collectors.
Some of the retirements are no longer available from the online shoppe.
I was surprised to see many of the Swarovski Lovlots Circus figurines in the list, as they only launched about 1 year ago.
Some of the longest running Swarovski figurines on the list that will no longer be produced includes:
Swarovski Squirrel, introduced in 1985
Swarovski Beagle, introduced in 1990
Swarovski Baby Elephant, introduced in 1995
Swarovski Ladybird, introduced in 1995
A couple of the Swarovski figurines retiring have colored versions that are replacing them. This seems to be a new way to re-introduce figurines. Kristall Buzz featured an article about this trend on Swarovski Clear Crystal Figurinesin February, 2011.
Swarovski Mandarin Ducks – Clear: 2006 through 2012; Topaz: introduced in 2010 and still current in 2012.
Swarovski Tortoises, Baby (Set of 2) – Clear: 1998 through 2012; Golden Shadow: introduced in 2012.
If any of the 2012 retirements are on your wish list, get them before they become too hard to find, and a premium price must be paid to obtain them! CrystalExhange.com has a huge list of retired Swarovski figurines, so crystal collectors should check out this site if the desired figurine is no longer available on-line or in stores.
In September 2014, WBRBOnline added features to the Swarovski Database that has over 3300 items in it. The new functionality in the software allows subscribers to record and keep their inventory of their Swarovski crystal collection.
Warner’s Blue Ribbon Books on Swarovski Crystal has been annually publishing books on Swarovski figurines for over 20 years! Their online counterpart, www.wbrbonline.com, allows subscribers to access identical factual information as their printed Swarovski books for a fraction of the price. Users may view a plethora of information on current and retired Swarovski figurines: Swarovski Name, Swarovski Part Number, Swarovski System Number, Swarovski Designer, MSRP, ERV (better known as the Swarovski Value for insurance purposes), dimensions, Swarovski Introduction Date, Status (year retired or current), which Swarovski Logos are on the figurine, and a paragraph of information on the crystal piece.
In the recent enhancements, Warner’s Blue Ribbon Books added new functionality to the site that should be pleasing to Swarovski collectors looking for an all-inclusive solution to inventory their Swarovski figurines. Former Star Track Software users, who found their Swarovski software was no longer being updated or supported as of 2009, welcome the new functionality. Just like Star Track Software, users can enter custom insurance values. The WBRB Swarovski Software also allows users to download a text file. This file can be used with programs like MS Excel to format data to their liking for a printed report. A complete Swarovski Software Demo can be found on the WBRB Trax web site.
This is wonderful news for Swarovski crystal fanatics who might be missing Star Track Software. This may just be the time to get a Swarovski Software subscription and update your inventory!

The Kristall Buzz, a blog on Swarovski Crystal, has launched its fourth video on YouTube! This video highlights Swarovski Tiger crystal figurines along with some beautiful and exotic wild cats. Take a look!
Swarovski SCS Tiger – This Swarovski Tiger was the Annual Edition crystal figurine available exclusively to SCS members in 2010. It was the third crystal figurine in the series “Endangered Wildlife”. The Swarovski identification numbers are 9100000145 / 1003148. The Swarovski SCS Tiger retailed for $450 in 2010. The primary color used for the figurine was ‘golden shine’. The Swarovski SCS Tiger measures approximately 7.25″ in length.
Swarovski SCS Tiger Cub, Sitting – This Swarovski tiger cub was available to SCS members in 2010 and was a very complimentary figurine to the SCS tiger. The Swarovski identification numbers are 9100000166 / 1016678. It retailed for $180 in 2010. Like the SCS tiger, the color is ‘golden shine’. The Swarovski SCS Tiger cub measures approximately 3.12″ in length.
Swarovski SCS Tiger Cub, Standing – This Swarovski tiger cub was available to SCS members in 2010 and is a gorgeous addition to display with the SCS tiger. The Swarovski identification numbers are 9100000166 / 1016678 AND 9100000165 / 1016677 depending on whether it was purchased or provided as a loyalty gift by the crystal brand for purchasing the entire “Endangered Wildlife” trilogy using the same SCS number for all three pieces. The non-gift figurine retailed for $180 in 2010. Like the SCS tiger, the color is ‘golden shine’. The Swarovski SCS Tiger cub measures nearly 3.5″ in length.
Swarovski Chinese Zodiac Tiger – This Swarovski tiger is part of the crystal brand’s “Chinese Zodiac” series. The identification numbers are 9100000135 / 1002980. The official color is silver shade crystal. It is about 3.25″ long. This is the only tiger in the video that is presently available on the Swarovski web site, and it retails for $300.
Swarovski Limited Edition Chinese Zodiac Tiger – This Swarovski tiger is identical to the zodiac tiger described above, except that the color is in golden shine. The identification numbers for this Swarovski limited editionfigurine are 9200000269 / 1016810. It was only available in China from 2009 – 2010.
Swarovski Tiger Paperweight – This Swarovski Tiger is silver in color, resting upon a crystal ball. This tiger was in the Swarovski Trimlite group “Crystal Sculptures”. Â Swarovski used unique product identification numbers to represent the metal color of the tiger .72116 is the number for the gold tiger and 72117 is the number for the pewter tiger This figurine was available 1983 through 1986 at a retail price of $95. Â This Swarovski tiger is very difficult to find and will likely command prices of $800 – $1200 dollars. No Trimlite mark was found on the figurine shown in the video.
Elizabeth Adamer was credited with the design for all the Swarovski SCS tigers. They truly look like a nice feline family.
Both the Swarovski Zodiac tiger figurines have a clear crystal base that is engraved matte finish name in English and Chinese seal script.
If you are a feline fanatic or collect Swarovski wild cats, many of these Swarovski tiger figurines can be found in the Crystal Exchange America store: www.CrystalExchange.com . Use the search box in the store and type in “tiger” (singular form, not plural) to view the crystal figurines presently available with pricing.
Great news for Swarovski Crystal Society members the golden 2011 Ornament, which is exclusive to the Swarovski SCS members, is now available on the Swarovski web site for purchase! This special Swarovski Annual Edition Ornament is limited to one per member, and is only available through the end of 2011.
Our favorite crystal brand began producing Swarovski AE ornaments in 2009. Being a success, Swarovski continued the trend into 2010 and 2011. The primary difference between the annual edition Swarovski Ornament and the SCS Ornament, is that the Swarovski SCS ornament is Golden Shine in color instead of clear. Additional differences include the gold-colored ribbon that it hangs from, and the special gold-colored packaging in lieu of the traditional blue Swarovski Box.
Pictured is a complete collection of Swarovski SCS Golden Shadow Ornaments.
If you are a Swarovski SCS member and have not yet begun your collection of these limited edition ornaments, it’s not too late. Crystal Exchange America has both the 2009 and 2010 editions available. As a hint, ornaments are most expensive during the Christmas holiday season, so pricing will be more attractive now, than in another two months. To find them on the web site of this retired Swarovski dealer, go to www.CrystalExchange.com . Then check out the category Christmas and Ornaments. Not only will you find the Swarovski SCS Golden Shadow ornaments, you’ll find many other Swarovski ornaments dating back to 1987.
